Word Work

It's so important for our emergent readers to practice, practice, practice their sight words.  Every day boys and girls write them on their white boards, play hang man, and do word work stations.
Words made with play dough and cookie cutters!

Happy Birthday, Dr. Seuss!

During the first week of March,  the Kindergarten students at Rowe celebrated Dr. Seuss' Birthday!  We practiced rhyming, listened to lots of books by Dr. Seuss, made a Cat in the Hat craft, and ate green eggs and ham!  Yum!!  What a fun week!  We even got to meet the famous Cat in the Hat!

Thidwick the Moose

Mr. Sincerbeaux came in today to read us one of his favorite Dr. Seuss books....Thidwick the Big Hearted Moose.  It's a funny, rhyming story about a moose whose antlers become home to many critters until Thidwick's antlers fall off.

Penguins

In January our class learned about Penguins.  It is always such fun to learn about these funny birds that can't fly!

Big Book Station

Happy New Year!  After Christmas, vacation, and snow days it's time to get back into swing of things!

This fall I wrote a grant through donorschoose.org for a wooden easel stand and big books to use during reading workshop as a Big Book Station.  Our stand and books arrived for us to start using on Monday.  The kids and I are all excited!

Here are some pictures from Reading Workshop this week.  We love to READ!!
